They would leave large amounts around their ankles and legs to help keep their legs warm and they believed it would be good for the joints as well. Then it became fashionable to shave your dog to look retarded. And the picture is probably from a reality show contest on the animal planet channel called something like the ultimate groomer or some stupid thing but the show actually exists and this is an entry Im sure..
