					<description>This one's interesting. The illusion isn't in seeing the face. It's always there. The white lines aren't toally white, they contain a low-contrast grayscale image of the face.

The illusion is in *not* seeing the face up close. The black lines provide such a large contrast to the grays between them that they look white. Essentailly, the low-contrast gray is &quot;drowned out&quot; by the sharp black.

As you move away from the screen this effect diminishes... I'm not exactly sure why but I think it's because your mind can no longer focus on individual lines and must process the picture as a whole.</description>
